Why have I started this blog?

My reason for starting this blog is to share my knowledge and experience in building and managing large production systems.

I shall write about many topics from the real life of an Operations Manager:
  • how to build a scalable and highly available production service
  • how to build a great team
  • how to select proper tools
  • how to work with R&D
  • how to support your customers
  • how to manage tasks
  • and many more...

I hope that many technical folks will find the blog useful. If you are a system/network administrator, Operations Manager or R&D Manager you will find in the blog many tips how to improve your system, network, application, deployment process, problem response time and team cooperation.

Most of my experience is coming from the open source world, and my articles will be primarily focused on freely available tools and applications.

I am planning to post one new article in two weeks - you are welcome to subscribe to the blog using the provided email or RSS subscription features.

Stay tuned!
